GoFundMe page established following devastating Overlea house fire

OVERLEA, MD—A family is rebuilding following a devastating house fire in Overlea last week.

On Wednesday afternoon, June 4, 2025, a house fire destroyed a residence on Old Home Road (21206).

According to a GoFundMe page that has been established, the family “suffered a horrific, traumatizing, and despicable act against them…when an unstable individual decided to set their house on fire with them still inside. They lost everything, including, sadly, a beloved gecko. Thankfully, everyone got out physically unharmed.”

Units from multiple fire companies responded to try and contain the blaze.  Both units in the duplex were completely destroyed.
