BALTIMORE, MD—Baltimore County residents will see their water bills increase by nearly 5% starting July 1, following approval by the Baltimore City Board of Estimates on Wednesday.
The 4.9% increase aims to bridge the gap in water usage rates between Baltimore City and Baltimore County residents, according to officials with the Baltimore City Department of Public Works.
Both the city and county share a common drinking water and sewer system, which is managed by Baltimore City.
This upcoming increase follows similar hikes in recent years, including a comparable rise in 2023 and a 4% increase in 2021.
