Dundalk man arrested following road rage incident on I-695

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A Dundalk man has been arrested and charged with gun and drug offenses in Baltimore and Harford counties following an alleged road rage incident involving a firearm, Maryland State Police announced Friday.

Travis Dontray Thomas, 26, faces charges including two counts of felony assault, two counts of misdemeanor assault, and using a firearm during a felony crime in Baltimore County. In Harford County, he is charged with having a loaded handgun in a vehicle and possessing a firearm in the commission of a drug trafficking crime.

The arrest came Thursday afternoon in Perryman, Maryland.

The investigation began Wednesday, June 4, around 11:00 a.m., when Maryland State Police at the Golden Ring Barrack received an emergency call. A motorist reported that another driver pointed a silver firearm at them and a passenger during an apparent road-rage incident on the outer loop of I-695 near I-95. The victims were not injured.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police identified Thomas as the suspect. Investigators located Thomas at his workplace in Harford County on Thursday, where they executed search warrants. During the search, police recovered a loaded firearm and suspected cocaine packaged for distribution.

A second search warrant was executed at Thomas’ residence in Dundalk, leading to the recovery of two additional firearms and more suspected cocaine.
