BALTIMORE, MD—Two men have been sentenced to prison in connection with a 2022 homicide that occurred in Middle River.
Demetris Tyron Hollis, 21, and Deandre Antoine Wright, 21, were both sentenced on Friday in the Baltimore County Circuit Court to life without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder.
On November 12, 2022, authorities responded to the 9900-block of Berliner Place in Middle River for a report of shots fired. At the scene, officers found the body of Tyran Caulk lying behind his car. He died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses had seen two people pursuing Caulk around his vehicle and firing at him. After he fell, one of the two stepped up to the victim and fired another shot to his head. Property was also stolen from Caulk. Over a dozen shell casings were found at the scene of the murder.
The Baltimore County Police Department determined that Wright had communicated with the victim, via social media, to meet at the location where Caulk was found dead. Wright and Hollis had communicated via social media to arrange be present to rob Caulk. The police also recovered the ghost guns used to carry out the murder and linked the cell phones of Wright and Hollis to the scene of the crime.
Both Wright and Hollis had been convicted by a jury on February 11, 2025 on charges of first-degree murder, firearms charges, and armed robbery.
State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger offered his appreciation to Stacy Amparo and Dylan Gerry for their work “in getting Wright and Hollis convicted” and to the Baltimore County Police for “the excellent investigation of these crimes.”
