DUNDALK, MD—The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has identified the decedent and officer involved in the fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday in Dundalk.
The shooting happened at around 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 2025, in the 8200-block of N. Boundary Road (21222). Police say officers were responding to a call about a person experiencing a mental health crisis. When officers arrived, they found an armed man behind a house.
According to authorities, the officers interacted with the man and “the officer responded to the actions of the armed subject, resulting in one officer discharging their firearm striking the adult male.” The man was taken to the hospital where he died. Police say a firearm was recovered at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Glenn Pettie, Jr. of Dundalk.
The Baltimore County Police Department officer is identified as Officer Michael Brady, a 4-year veteran of the department. Officer Brady is assigned to the Operations Bureau.
