Officer-involved shooting in Dundalk leaves one dead

DUNDALK, MD—One man is dead after a police officer shot him in Dundalk on Sunday night, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

The shooting happened at around 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 2025, in the 8200-block of N. Boundary Road (21222). Police say officers were responding to a call about a person experiencing a mental health crisis. When officers arrived, they found an armed man behind a house.

According to authorities, the officers interacted with the man and “the officer responded to the actions of the armed subject, resulting in one officer discharging their firearm striking the adult male.” The man was taken to the hospital where he died. Police say a firearm was recovered at the scene.

The Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General is conducting an investigation.
