PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks has announced the inclusion of more than $162,000 in the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget to replace the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning at Soukup Arena in Perry Hall.
“This project will help Soukup Arena to remain a modern athletic facility here in Perry Hall,” said Councilman Marks. The park on which Soukup Arena sits is one of six that have advanced in Perry Hall since 2010.
Tim Bonner, president of the Perry Hall Recreation Council, noted the unique place of Soukup Arena in Baltimore County.
“The Perry Hall Recreation Council raised more than $1.5 million to construct Soukup Arena, and the facility is named in honor of longtime president, Jerry Soukup,” Bonner noted.
Both Marks and Bonner expressed hope that program disruption would be minimized by the work.
The entrance sign that was hit by an irresponsible driver is also planned to be replaced.
