Baltimore County Police Department salutes fallen heroes during annual ceremony

TOWSON, MD—On Friday, members of the Baltimore County Police Department saluted BCoPD’s 10 fallen heroes during the Department’s annual police memorial ceremony.

“Today we pause to remember the ten Baltimore County Police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty and reflect on their lives, their sacrifice, and the work that we have dedicated our lives to for so long,” said Police Chief Robert O. McCullough.

“Today, with our deepest gratitude, we mourn the loss and honor the memory of Baltimore County Police Department fallen heroes,” said County Executive Kathy Klausmeier. “We will always hold them in our hearts and we will never forget their sacrifices.”

The ten fallen heroes honored on Friday were as follows:



  • Officer Edward Kuznar, EOW 12/9/69
  • Officer Charles Huckeba, EOW 7/6/77
  • Corporal Samuel Snyder, EOW 8/23/83
  • Officer Robert W. Zimmerman, EOW 11/14/86
  • Sergeant Bruce Prothero, EOW 2/7/00
  • Officer John Stem, Sr., EOW 10/19/00
  • Sergeant Mark Parry, EOW 1/21/02
  • Lieutenant Michael Howe, EOW 8/11/08
  • Police Officer First Class Jason Schneider, EOW 8/28/13
  • Police Officer First Class Amy Sorrells Caprio, EOW 5/21/18
