TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County Public Library has announced that Sunday, May 18, 2025 will be the last day for Sunday hours as it adjusts to its summer schedule. Seven branches—Arbutus, Cockeysville, North Point, Owings Mills, Perry Hall, Pikesville and Towson—will be closed on Sundays starting May 25, and will resume Sunday hours on Sunday, September 7. The decision was based on traditionally lower foot traffic during the summer months. All branches remain open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The book drops will stay open seven days a week for convenience.
BCPL encourages customers to visit Monday through Saturday and explore its extensive digital library, which is available 24/7. Enjoy books on Libby and CloudLibrary, movies on hoopla and Kanopy, newspapers or magazines on PressReader and more. Library of Things can be borrowed Monday through Saturday for use on Sundays and includes Adventure Backpacks, board games, outdoor activities, karaoke machines, science kits, fishing poles, early learning kits and more.
Plus, families can participate in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge—Color Our World. From Saturday, June 7, through Saturday, August 30, anyone 18 and under can read for 10 hours and fill out a paper game board or enter in on Beanstack. When finished the challenge, come into any branch to pick up a completion prize.
Additionally, the White Marsh Branch is currently closed through the summer for a restroom renovation. Sunday hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. return on Sunday, September 7.
