ESSEX, MD—Crews rescued two deer who became trapped on ice on the Back River in the Essex area over the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2025, crews from Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine and the North Point Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department rescued two deer that were stranded on the ice between Tiki Lee’s and Essex Skypark Airport on the Back River.
The deer were unable to stand up and and kept falling on the ice.
The two deer were successfully brought back ashore and ran off into the woods.
