Following tragic Christmas Eve shooting in Rosedale, community walk to be held on Thursday

ROSEDALE, MD—Following a tragic Christmas Eve, domestic-related shooting in Rosedale that left a child dead and other family members injured, Baltimore County officials will hold a community walk in the affected neighborhood on Thursday.

Baltimore County detectives have arrested 30-year-old Mark Jones in the fatal shooting of four-year-old Jacobi Jones and the non-fatal shooting of two others on December 24th.

The incident occurred at just after 6:30 a.m. in the unit block of Breslin Court (21237).

Once on scene, officers located an adult female along with two juveniles suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Medics transported the three victims to an area hospital, where four-year-old Jacobi Jones was pronounced dead.

Mark Jones is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Baltimore County Police Chief Robert O. McCullough will join state and local elected officials, as well as residents of the Ross Ridge community, for a community walk on Breslin Court on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 4 p.m. The walk will give residents an opportunity to share their public safety concerns and raise awareness about domestic violence and the resources available to address it.

Other participants include Katherine Klausmeier, Maryland State Senator; Nick Allen, Maryland State Delegate; Harry Bhandari, Maryland State Delegate; Carl Jackson, Maryland State Delegate; Mike Ertel, Baltimore County Councilman; and community leaders and stakeholders.
