Suspect arrested in murder of northeast Baltimore man

BALTIMORE, MD—Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a northeast Baltimore man last month.

In reference to a homicide that occurred on November 21, officers have arrested 26-year-old Amir Barnes-Henderson of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Barnes-Henderson shot and killed 34-year-old Gary Matthews while in the 4900-block of Frankford Avenue, following a dispute.

On November 29, 2024, patrol officers arrested Amir Barnes-Henderson in the 5000-block of Crenshaw Avenue, during a burglary investigation.

Investigators transported Barnes-Henderson to Central Booking, where has been was charged with first- and second-degree murder.
