Debby’s remnants to bring flooding, tornadoes, gusty winds to Maryland

BALTIMORE, MD—The remnants of Tropical Storm Debby will approach Maryland on Thursday evening and pass through the region Thursday night and into Friday.

Flooding, tornadoes, gusty winds, and coastal flooding will be the main threats associated with the storm system.

Heavy rainfall is likely on Thursday evening and into Friday morning.  A general 1 – 3 inches of rain are possible along the I-95 corridor with 3 – 5 inches possible in some spots.

The risk for tornadoes will also increase from Thursday night into Friday morning.  Gale force wind gusts (39 mph+) are possible along the water with 20 – 35 mph gusts possible inland.

Moderate coastal flooding is also possible in parts of the state.
