ESSEX, MD—A barricade situation is unfolding in the Essex area on Wednesday morning.

The incident began at just before 4 a.m. on July 17 in the 200-block of West Road (21221).

Residents who live in this area are being asked to stay indoors as authorities work to peacefully resolve the incident.
