ABERDEEN, MD—Loud noise alert!
Aberdeen Proving Ground officials have announced that firing operations are scheduled for Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 20, 2023 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices. These operations are not hazardous to residents in the surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members.
Officials say APG takes every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To ensure minimal impact, analysts monitor the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day.
