Councilman Marks supports improvements to North Plaza Shopping Center

CARNEY, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Wednesday told NottinghamMD.com that he had recently sent a letter to Continental Realty Corporation offering his support for any improvements to increase the marketability of the North Plaza Shopping Center.

“I am writing to express my strong support for improvements that will increase the marketability of North Plaza, a significant commercial center in the Satyr Hill area of my district,” Marks wrote.

“This is one of the oldest shopping centers along Joppa Road, and it has terrific potential. The shopping center is located in a commercial revitalization district, and more than 57,000 vehicles pass by North Plaza every day. Unfortunately, as you know, the shopping center has had a large vacancy since the K-Mart store closed. I support any efforts to market and fill this vacancy and any others.”

Marks has been able to push for renovations at numerous other commercial areas, including Perry Hall Square and the Silver Spring Shopping Center. Downtown Towson has also experienced significant growth.

“Continental Realty has always had an excellent dialogue with my office, and I stand in support of all they need to improve this shopping center,” Marks commented.
