Shots fired after victim pepper-sprays potential robber in Rosedale

ROSEDALE, MD—Police are investigating an attempted robbery that was reported in the Rosedale area.

At just after 4:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, a man was riding his bicycle in the 800-block of Philadelphia Road is Rosedale (21237) when a vehicle pulled up next to him.
A passenger got out of the car, pointed a handgun at the man, and demanded money.

The victim reached into his pocket, grabbed pepper spray, and sprayed the suspect. The suspect pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the direction of the victim, then fled the scene in his vehicle.

The victim was not injured in the incident.
