NOTTINGHAM, MD—There is an increased risk for severe storms throughout the Baltimore area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Damaging wind gusts from scattered severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening.

The greatest risk is over the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area eastward toward the Chesapeake Bay but isolated instances of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible near and west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Residents should stay tuned to local forecasts throughout the day.
