Governor Hogan extends prohibition on utility shut-offs through September 1

NOTTINGHAM, MD—On Friday, Governor Larry Hogan signed a new Executive Order meant to help residents as they continue to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This new order extends the emergency order prohibiting utility providers from shutting off or charging late fees for residential services, including electricity, water, phone, and internet, through September 1st.
