TOWSON, MD – A popular phone scam is resurfacing, according to Baltimore County officials.
Representatives with the Baltimore County Volunteer Firemen’s Association say there is currently a scam circulating around the county with regard to telephone solicitations.
The scammers call local residents and say they are collecting donations on behalf of the Baltimore County Volunteer Firemen’s Association.
Authorities say that the BCVFA does not do this and that these calls are fraudulent in nature.
Anyone who receives one of these calls is encouraged to ask for the caller’s name and number and then forward the information to a BCVFA officer.
Contact info for the BCVFA can be found here.
