Crews are on the scene of a serious, Wednesday evening crash in Essex.

The crash was reported at just after 5:30 p.m. in the area of Eastern Boulevard at Marie Avenue (21221).

Several vehicles were involved in the crash and multiple injuries have been reported.

Motorists should avoid the area.
