Police are investigating an Essex home invasion and a Nottingham commercial burglary that were reported this week.

At around 6 p.m. on Monday, January 7, two armed individuals entered a home in the 1500-block of Nicolay Way in Essex (21221), assaulted one victim, and stole cell phones and medication.  The suspects then fled the scene.

At just after midnight on Wednesday, January 9, an individual unsuccessfully tried to break into the VMart, located in the 8800-block of Belair Road in Nottingham (21236), by hitting the front glass door. The suspect did eventually make entry through the rear door and stole cash from the location.  The suspect then fled the scene.
