Police in Baltimore are on the scene investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Middle River.
At just after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1500-block of Dornton Avenue (21220) for a report of a woman shot inside a home.
The adult woman suffered at least one gunshot wound to an extremity and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
She is expected to survive her injuries.
A male suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Martin Boulevard Elementary School is not on any type of alert status as police believe there is no immediate threat to the community.
Detectives are investigating.
