Water rescue in progress on Gunpowder River

Emergency personnel are performing a Thursday evening water rescue along the Gunpowder River.

At just after 5 p.m., the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that crews were searching the river between Belair Road and Philadelphia Road after receiving a report for an overturned kayak with an individual stranded on a rock.


There has been no word on any injuries.

Pair of overnight crashes reported along Route 40

CrashEmergency personnel responded to a pair of overnight crashes along Route 40 in White Marsh.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that the first crash occurred at about 1 a.m. at the intersection of Pulaski Highway and White Boulevard.  There, a vehicle had reportedly gone off the roadway and into the woods.


The second crash occurred at just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Pulaski Highway at Days Cove Road.

There has been no update on any injuries.

2018 UAW GM All American Cruisin’ Car Show comes to White Marsh on Sept. 29

UAW GM Car Show 2017 SmallA big auto show is coming to White Marsh later this month.

The 2018 UAW GM “All American Cruisin’ Car Show” will be held at the GM Baltimore Operations Plans on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The plant is located at 10301 Philadelphia Road in White Marsh.

Proceeds will benefit the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.

The event will feature fun for the whole family – food, music, raffles, games for the kids, etc.

All domestic and classic vehicles are invited. There is a $15 registration fee.

Crash reported along northbound I-95

Car Crash AccidentCrews are on the scene of a Thursday morning crash along Interstate 95.

At just after 10:30 a.m., the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that one of its units had responded to a crash along northbound I-95 just prior to the MD-152 exit.

There has been no word on any injuries.

Motorists should use caution in the area.

Fire crews investigating smoke at Gunpowder Elementary

Fire crews are responding to an incident at a local elementary school.

At just before 10:30 a.m., units from White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to Gunpowder Elementary School.

WMVFC says that units were responding to a report of smoke in a classroom.

There been no word on what caused the smoke or whether there were any injuries.
