Crash shuts down Route 40 ramp

At about 10:45 a.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration reported that the ramp from westbound Route 40 to Route 43 had been shut down due to the crash.

There has been no word on any injuries.

Motorists should use caution in the area.

 


Poole Island Brewing Company coming soon to Middle River

Greenleigh at CrossroadsA new craft brewery will soon be opening its doors in the Middle River area.

The Baltimore County Board of Liquor License Commissioners on Monday approved a new liquor license for Poole Island Brewing Company.

The new brewery, owned by Roger Bedard Jr., David Cahlander, and Monica Donnelly, will be located at St. John Properties’ Greenleigh at Crossroads, located at 11695 Crossroads Circle.

“Another new business opening in District 6,” tweeted Sixth District Councilwoman Cathy Bevins. “I am so proud of all of the new businesses and jobs that have been created over the past few years. The Pooles [sic] Island Brewing Company will be an exciting addition to Rt. 43!”

The new brewery hopes to open its doors before the end of 2018.

Vehicle fire on I-95 snarls traffic

Crews are on the scene of a Thursday morning vehicle fire in White Marsh.

The fire was reported at just after 8:30 a.m. along northbound I-95 just past the White Marsh Boulevard exit.

The two left lanes are blocked past the Route 43 exit.

Motorists should expect delays in the area.


Remnants of Florence cause mudslide, closed roads

Hurricane FlorenceThe remnants of Hurricane Florence began pushing through the Nottingham area in the wee hours on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms and heavy rains were reported in many areas overnight.

At about 3:30 a.m., the Baltimore County Fire Department reported that a vehicle had become submerged in flood waters at Pulaski Highway and Philadelphia Road in Rosedale.  The vehicle was unoccupied.

At about 5 a.m., the State Highway Administration reported that Route 43 had been shut down at US-1 due to a mudslide.  Other local roadways also had to be closed overnight.  They have all since been reopened.

The National Weather Service says another round of storms will likely move through the area on Tuesday afternoon.

A flash flood watch is in effect for the Nottingham area until 6 p.m.

Hazmat crews responding to overturned dump truck in White Marsh

Crews are on the scene of a Wednesday morning crash involving a dump truck in White Marsh.

The crash was reported at just before 9:15 a.m. in the area of White Marsh Boulevard at Pulaski Highway.

Reports indicate that a dump truck overturned at the scene.

The driver has been freed from the truck, although there has been no word on any injuries.

Hazmat crews from the Maryland Department of the Environment are responding to the scene to pump the truck’s fuel tanks.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
