BCPS school supply drive enters overdrive

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools invites local residents to participate in this tradition and to donate school supplies to students who will need them.

There are three ways to participate this year – making an online contribution, volunteering time, or dropping off donated supplies.

And if giving makes you hungry, you might want to consider dropping off your donations at one of two Slice restaurants. BCPS supporters who take newly purchased school supplies to the Slice location in Towson or White Marsh (along with a store receipt showing that they spent at least $10 on the supplies) will receive a free slice of pizza. Visit Slice on Thursdays and 25% of your purchase will be donated to The Education Foundation of BCPS.

Next phase of improvements to begin at The Avenue at White Marsh

The Avenue RoundaboutLots of work has been done to improve The Avenue at White Marsh, but more is yet to come.

Officials at The Avenue announced on Friday that Phase III of the improvement plan would begin on May 29th.

This phase will include new landscaping and enhanced streetscapes, and two roundabouts will also be installed to assist with traffic flow.  The work will also include art installations throughout the property.

This phase should be completed by this fall.

During this process, all stores will remain open.

Customers are advised to utilize the parking available behind the buildings, as portions of the main drive lanes in front of the stores will be closed periodically to allow work to be completed as quickly as possible.

More details on the improvements are available at The Avenue’s website here.
