Police are investigating several local robberies and burglaries that have been reported so far this month.
Sometime between 11 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, and 6 a.m. on Monday, July 10, two people broke into Overlea Body and Fender, located in the 7000 block of Belair Road (21206), via a bay door window. The suspects stole six vehicles that were being serviced.
At 5:45 p.m. on Monday, July 10, two individuals walked up to another individual in the area of Driftwood Court and Hopkins Creek Lane in Essex (21221). The two men produced a handgun and stole the victim’s cell phone, cash, and the vehicle in which the victim was sitting.
Sometime between 6:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10, and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, someone entered a home in the 9200 block of Oswald Way in Rosedale (21237) by prying open a window. Once inside, the suspect stole a game system and accessories.
Sometime between 5 p.m. on June 22 and 3:15 p.m. on July 12, an individual stole a lawn mower from the backyard storage area of a home located in the 700 block of Old Home Road (21206).
At about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, multiple people robbed a man in the 1100 block of Old Eastern Avenue in Essex (21221). The suspects stole a bag containing the victim’s cell phone and a personal identity item.
Police are investigating four robberies that took place on Saturday, April 8th.
1:30 a.m. @ Hopkins Creek Lane and Masthead Court, 21221
An individual entered the victim’s car and, at gunpoint, demanded the victim’s property. The suspect left with the victim’s cash and car key. The key was recovered.
5:30 a.m. @ 200 block of Back River Neck Road, 21220
At just after 5:30 a.m., an armed suspect ran into the 7-Eleven and removed a cash register drawer containing cash and then fled.
4:00 p.m. @ Philadelphia Road and Fontana Lane, 21237
A juvenile victim was assaulted by a group of juvenile suspects who stole his cell phone and electronic equipment.
5:00 p.m. @ 8600 Block of Honeygo Boulevard, 21236
At just after 5 p.m., a juvenile victim was robbed of his cash by four unknown suspects. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.
Anyone with additional information on these incidents is asked to contact police.
Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during a robbery attempt in Essex.
At about 10 p.m. on Monday night, a man was walking in the area of Barnacle Court and Hopkins Creek Lane.
As the victim was walking, a suspect, brandishing a knife, jumped out of the bushes and demanded the victim’s property.
The victim reached for the knife and the suspect lunged at him, stabbing him.
The suspect then fled the scene.
There has been no word on the victim’s condition and police have not provided any additional details.
