Woman robbed in Carney, attempted break-in reported at Walther Liquors

Police GraphicPolice are investigating several robberies, burglaries, and assaults that were reported over the past week.

Sometime between midnight on Tuesday, July 10, and 4:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13, an individual attempted to enter Walther Liquors, located in the 8600-block of Walther Boulevard (21236). Pry marks were observed on the rear door and door jam. No entry was gained.

At just after 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, a man was robbed of his cash by two individuals, one of whom displayed a gun in the area of Middleborough Road and Back River Neck Road in Essex (21221) . The suspects then fled on foot.

At 3:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13, two individuals broke into the Dunkin Donuts located in the 7500-block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale (21237) via the drive through window. The suspects destroyed and removed electronic equipment before fleeing.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, an individual entered the Metro PCS store located in the 400-block of Eastern Boulevard in Essex (21221). Implying a gun, he ordered the clerk to give him money and her cell phone. He also stole a store cell phone and then fled.


At just before 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, a man was attempting to enter his vehicle in the 9600-block of Philadelphia Road in Rosedale (21237) when an armed individual demanded his property. The suspect left on foot with the victim’s cash, cell phone, credit card, keys, and a personal identity item.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday, a woman was robbed by an armed individual in the 9400-block of Harford Road in Carney (21234). The suspect then fled on foot.

Sometime between 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, and 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 15, an individual broke into Highpoint Buildings in the 8700-block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale (21237). The suspect removed a sequence of checks from the business checkbook and stole a beverage.

At just after 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, an individual deliberately struck and assaulted someone with a vehicle in a parking lot in the 8600-block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale (21237).

Two suspects arrested in connection with Bowleys Quarters shooting

Bowleys Quarters Shooting SuspectsPolice in Baltimore County have arrested two suspects in connection with the November 27 shooting of a man near Middle River.

Alicia Charline Venzke, 26, of Middle River, and Michael George Collett, 27, of Parkville, have both been charged with attempted 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, armed robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime.


Police were initially called to the area of Carroll Island Road for a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. Police have determined that the shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. in an alley between Day Coach Circle and Eastern Boulevard when Venzke, known to the victim, set him up to be robbed.

The victim was walking with Venzke in the alley toward her house when Collett arrived and they announced the robbery. Venzke shot the victim when he attempted to flee, striking him in the leg.

Venzke and Collett fled to her nearby home after the robbery attempt, where they were arrested the following day. Venzke was in possession of a gun at the time of her arrest, and a second gun was recovered in her home during the execution of a search warrant.

Both Venzke and Collett remain held without bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center pending trial.

Police are on the scene of a Monday night shooting in Bowleys Quarters.

At about 9 p.m., units responded to the Dunkin Donuts locates in the 100 block of Carroll Island Road.

At the scene, police found a 33-year-old male laying in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound.  The suspect had already fled the scene.

The patient was taken to Bayview for treatment.  He is expected to survive his injuries.

Police believe this was a targeted crime. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020.

Police investigate burglaries, make arrest

burglaryPolice are investigating a string of burglaries that have taken place this week and they’ve made one arrest in connection with some of them.

At just before 2 a.m. on August 1, an individual smashed the door of the Subway restaurant located in the 6300 block of Kenwood Avenue in Rosedale (21237) in order to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect stole the cash register containing cash and then fled in a vehicle with another suspect.
