Police investigate rash of local burglaries, attempted burglaries

burglaryPolice are investigating a rash of local burglaries and attempted burglaries that were reported over the past week.

Sometime between 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, and 7 a.m. on Friday, June 23, an individual pried open a storage room door at the El Rich Motel,  located in the 8200 block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale (21237), and stole four televisions. The suspect then fled the scene.

At just after 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23, an individual broke into an apartment on Attenborough Drive in Rosedale (21237) via a side door and stole cash, a computer, and a television.

Sometime between 1 a.m. on Friday, June 23, and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, an individual or individuals broke into a residence on Beaver Court in Nottingham (21236).  The suspects ransacked the residence and stole various items before fleeing the scene.

Sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, June 23, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, an individual entered a home in the 1000 block of Foxcroft Lane in Essex (21221) via the front window.  The suspects stole a DVD player, a game system, keys, a tablet, a TV, and a watch before fleeing the scene.

Sometime between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, someone broke into a home on Willow Creek Court in Parkville (21234) via the front door and stole cash from the residence.

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, and 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, an individual removed the screen from the kitchen window to enter an apartment on Rosecrans Place in Nottingham (21236). Once inside, the suspect stole clothing and electronics before fleeing the scene.

At about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, someone broke the front glass window of the Big Lots store located in the 2500 block of Cleanleigh Drive in Parkville (21234). No entry was gained.

At about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 25, an individual attempted to break into Island Spirit Liquors and the Goodwill store located in the 100 block of Carroll Island Road in Middle River (21220) by kicking in their front door glass. The suspect also threw the plants from Walmart into the street. The suspect was arrested.

Assaults, burglary, robbery reported in Parkville

police-lightsIt was a busy weekend for police in Parkville, as they investigated two assaults, a burglary, and a robbery.

At 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, a woman was parked in her car with a friend in the 2300 block of Cleanleigh Drive, 21234. The friend assaulted the victim both inside and outside of the vehicle. As a witness to the assault approached, the suspect got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.

Sometime between 6 and 10:30 a.m. on February 11, someone entered a home in the 1900 block of Haverhill Road, 21234, via the garage. The suspect stole the victim’s car and a bicycle before fleeing the scene.

At 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 12, two men entered the Royal Farms store located in the 2700 block of Taylor Avenue, 21234, and stole cigars and cigarettes. The suspects then fled on foot.

At 4 a.m. on February 12, police were called to a physical assault involving a victim and two suspects outside the Dubai Lounge, located in the 7100 block of Darlington Drive, 21234.

Shooting reported in Parkville

ShootingPolice are on the scene of a Tuesday night shooting in Patkville. 

At about 11:30 p.m., paramedics responded to the 2400 block of Cleanleigh Drive, 21234, for a report of shots fired. 

At the scene, police found that one person had been shot. 

There has been no word on the victim’s condition or whether the shooter is in custody. 

Victim identified in fatal Parkville vehicle fire

Baltimore County Police DepartmentBaltimore County Police have identified the man that died in a vehicle fire in Parkville/Hillendale earlier this month.

At just after 1:30 p.m. on November 10, emergency personnel responded to a shopping center in the 2300 block of Cleanleigh Drive, 21234, for a vehicle fire. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 2004 Dodge Caravan on fire.

After Fire Department personal put the vehicle fire out, the body of 73-year-old Lewis Purvin Courts, of Baltimore, was found inside.

Baltimore County Police Fire Investigators are continuing to investigate the fire.

Criminal activity is not suspected.
