Subway restaurant, elementary school burglarized; CVS robbed

Police LightsPolice are investigating several local robberies and burglaries that were reported over the weekend.

Sometime between 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, and 6:15 a.m. on Friday, August 24, an individual entered a construction site in the 5300-block of Nottingham Ridge Road (21236) via a side door. Once inside, the suspect stole several pieces of construction equipment and fled.

Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and 7:45 a.m. on Friday, two individuals stole a statue and a plaque from Red House Run Elementary School, located in the 1700-block of Weyburn Road in Rosedale (21237).

At 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24, an individual used a large rock to break the window of the Subway restaurant located in the 1700-block of Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale (21237). Once inside, the suspect stole the cash register and handed it to a second suspect who was waiting outside. Both suspects then fled.

At just after 8:30 p.m. on Friday, an individual entered the CVS Pharmacy located in the 500-block of Eastern Boulevard in Essex (21221), implied a weapon, and demanded the money from the register. The suspect then fled on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter.

At 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 26, a man was walking in a parking lot in the 2000-block of Flintshire Road in Rosedale (21237) when he was approached by two armed individuals. They demanded his property and left on foot with his cash and cell phone.

Overturned truck shuts down inner loop of I-695 in Rosedale/Essex

I-695 Crash 20180427Crews are on the scene of a Friday afternoon crash involving an overturned truck.

The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. along the inner loop of I-695.

All lanes of the beltway’s inner loop are currently blocked at Chesaco Avenue.

The truck is on its side and only the left shoulder is getting by.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the tractor-trailer negotiated a curve at too high of a speed and flipped over.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and refused medical treatment.

The tractor-trailer weighs approximately 32,000 pounds. As a result of the crash, three rolls of steel cargo exited the trailer and came to rest on the right shoulder.

Motorists should use an alternate route.

Pizzamore, MetroPCS stores robbed

robberyPolice are investigating three local robberies that took place over the past week.

At about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, two individuals assaulted a man in the 700 block of Eastern Boulevard in Essex (21221) and stole his cell phone. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.

At just after 5 p.m. on Monday, January 1, two individuals entered the Metro PCS store located in the 1700 block of Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale (21237) and demanded the money from the cash register.  The suspects also demanded the wireless remotes that were on display. The victim placed the money and remotes in a bag and then both suspects fled the scene.

At just after 10 p.m. on Monday, an armed man entered the Pizzamore restaurant located in the 6000 block of Radecke Avenue (21206), went behind the counter, and stole cash from the register. The suspect also stole wallets and cash from the three victims behind the counter and then fled on foot.

Police investigating burglary, 3 robberies

Police LightsPolice are investigating a burglary and three robberies that were reported over the weekend.

At about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, November 10, two individuals came to the victim’s house in the 13200 block of Miles Road in Middle River (21220) and stole four collector toy cars at gunpoint and then fled. One suspect was apprehended.

At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, two individuals robbed a man of his cell phone and wallet at gunpoint in the 1700 Block of Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale (21237). The suspects assaulted the victim and then fled on foot.

Sometime between 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, and 3 a.m. on Sunday, November 12, an individual entered a home in the 5800 Block of Farmview Avenue (21206) and stole a rifle and a laptop bag containing electronics.

At 11 p.m. on Sunday, an individual entered the Domino’s Pizza locate in the 600 Block of Eastern Boulevard in Essex (21221) and, at gunpoint, stole cash and fled on foot.

Robbery attempt reported at Royal Farms, shots fired in Essex

Police LightsPolice are investigating several local robberies, assaults, and burglaries that we reported over the past week.

At just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, an armed man entered the Royal Farms located in the 7900 block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale (21237). The man approached the counter and demanded money from the register. The suspect then fled in a vehicle which was located nearby, at which time four suspects were taken into police custody.

At 12:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, an individual produced a gun and fired shots toward a group of people in the 800 block of Eastern Boulevard in Essex (21221), The suspect fled the scene. The victims were not injured.

Sometime between 7 and 10:30 a.m. on Friday, an individual broke into an apartment in the 100 block of Aspinwood Way in Rosedale (21237) via the bedroom window. The suspect stole various items from the apartment before fleeing the scene.

At about 7 p.m. on Friday, an armed man robbed another man of his cash and cell phone in the 800 block of South Marlyn Avenue in Essex (21221).

At 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, a man broke into the Subway restaurant located in the 1700 block of Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale (21237) while a second individual stood outside. The suspect stole money from the cash register, then fled with the other suspect.
