ESSEX, MD—Crews are on the scene of a Friday afternoon boat fire in Essex. The fire was reported at around 1 p.m. near Nanticoke Road (21221). Arriving units found smoke showing from a 40-foot boat in the water. All occupants are reportedly off of the boat at this time. There has been no word on any injuries.

At about noon, crews from White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 1400 block of Shore Road in the Wilson Point area. At the scene, firefighters found smoke showing from a docked boat.
