Middle River woman pepper-sprayed during robbery attempt after meeting suspect on dating app, vehicle stolen in Hillendale

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are investigating a robbery, a vehicle theft, and a burglary that were reported over the past week.

At just after 7:45 a.m. on Friday, September 30, someone entered a residence in the 3800-block of New Section Road in Middle River (21220) and stole a purse off of the counter.

At just after 3:15 p.m. on Friday, September 30, a man attempted to steal a woman’s cell phone in the 1200-block of Martin Boulevard in Middle River (21220).  The man then sprayed the woman with pepper spray. Police say the victim and suspect met via a dating app.  The suspect is still at large.

At just after 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, officers responded to the unit block of Solar Circle in Hillendale (21234) for a report of an auto theft. Authorities say an individual stole a vehicle from the back parking lot using a key stolen from a different vehicle, which was registered to the same owner.
