TOWSON, MD—Police have identified a teen whose body was found floating in a Towson pool this weekend.

On August 27, at just after approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the Towson precinct received a call for a potential drowning in the 8700-block of Mylander Lane.

Officers and medics arrived on scene, and located a male victim who appeared to be unresponsive inside a pool at the location, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

On Monday evening, detectives identified the 15-year-old as Jayden Mejia.  Authorities say he has been pronounced dead.

“It appears trespassing occurred after our pool was closed for the evening on Saturday August 27th, which resulted in the tragic loss of life,” said Donyel Cerceo, marketing director for Merritt Clubs. “ Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.”
