TOWSON, MD—Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night shooting near Towson that left an 8-year-old girl dead.
At just before 9:30 p.m. on August 3, officers responded to the 6300-block of Sherwood Road in Idlewylde (21239) for a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered an 8-year-old shooting victim in the basement of the home who had been critically injured.
Medics transported the child to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Unconfirmed reports would seem to indicate that the shooting may have been accidental in nature. The investigating is ongoing at this hour.
