BALTIMORE, MD—Heavy rain is expected to return to the Baltimore area this weekend.
Showers and thunderstorms will pop up on Friday and Saturday as a slow-moving front passes through the region. These storms may lead to flash flooding and quick rises along smaller streams.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area. The watch will be in effect from 11 p.m. on Friday through Saturday afternoon.
Average rainfall amounts around 1 to 3 inches are expected, but localized amounts of around 4 to 7 inches are possible in heavier showers and thunderstorms.
Rainfall amounts of around 1 to 3 inches within an hour or two are possible in areas where the heaviest rainfall occurs. The best chance for the heaviest rainfall will be overnight into Saturday morning.
