TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County and BGE officials are asking residents to help them locate any purple streetlights in the county.
Officials say a manufacturer defect has caused some streetlights to turn purple.
Anyone who comes across a purple streetlight in Baltimore County is asked to report it to BGE at https://bge.streetlightoutages.com.
Step 1: Type the address of where you saw the defective street light in the search box at the top of the page.
Step 2: Select the street light you want to report.
Step 3: Press the “REPORT THIS LIGHT” button
Other utility companies across the nation are using these exact same type of LED lights and are experiencing the same issue.
