NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for 13 counties in Maryland.
The watch covers the Baltimore metro area will be in effect until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
As Tropical Depression Ida moves through the state, conditions will be favorable for the development of tornadoes.
Heavy rains are also expected in the area and a Flood Watch is in effect.
Goveror Larry Hogan has directed MEMA to raise the state activation level and all Baltimore County Public Schools will dismiss three hours early on Wednesday.
