TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department has lost a longtime member.

Officials on Thursday announced the sudden passing of K9 Bella, a 10-year veteran.

As a search and rescue bloodhound, Bella helped search for and locate critical missing persons.

Bella reportedly died of a sudden and unexpected illness, according to police.
