Baltimore County police officer receives Public Service Award from NHTSA

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this week announced recipients of the 2021 NHTSA Public Service Awards.

During the virtual event, Baltimore County Police Officer Frank Enko was presented with the Lifesavers Award.

The award recognizes and honors individuals and organizations for achievements in the field of traffic safety.

During his career with the Baltimore County Police Department, Officer Enko has trained more than 20,000 police officers from around the country in traffic safety. The topics range from impaired driving to crash investigations.

“Safety is NHTSA’s top priority, and we depend on our local and state safety partners to help us save lives on our nation’s roads. These 15 highway safety professionals have all made a difference in their communities, and their service is an example to us all,” said NHTSA Acting Administrator Dr. Steven Cliff.

This is the highest honor the NHTSA can bestow upon an individual.
