NOTTINGHAM, MD—Belair Road will likely remain closed through the weekend due to the recent water main break.
At just after 8 p.m. on Thursday night, the State Highway Administration reported that Belair Road had been shut down in both directions from Necker Avenue to Klosterman Avenue, as a 12-inch diameter main had ruptured, leaving approximately 200 customers without service.
A private contractor has been dispatched and is assisting with repairs.
“The work on Belair Road near Olde Forge (Lane) will likely take all weekend,” Councilman David Marks said on Friday evening. “Please use other routes as the road is shut down except for emergency vehicles and local traffic. I will continue to stay in touch with our county and state transportation officials.”
“I know this is particularly inconvenient for local residents,” Councilman Marks added.
