Towson man arrested, charged in connection with Nottingham shooting death

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police have arrested and charged a Towson man in connection with a shooting death that occurred in Nottingham earlier this month.

Marc Jason Jones, 35, of the unit block of Cedar Avenue (21204), has been charged in connection with the November 5 killing of Teon Deontae Barnes, of Rosedale.

Authorities say Jones and Barnes had gotten into an argument on the parking lot of 4300 Bedrock Circle (21236) that ended with Jones shooting Barnes.

Jones then forced a witness into his vehicle and fled the scene with the witness prior to police arrival.

Jones has been charged with first-degree murder, the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and second-degree assault.

He remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bail status.
