Woman assaulted in Carney, Nottingham apartment burglarized

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are investigating a pair of local crimes that were reported over the weekend.

Sometime between 6 p.m. on Friday, August 21 and 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, an individual broke into an apartment in the unit block of Thurmont Court in Nottingham (21236).

Once inside, the suspect stole personal property then fled the scene.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, a known individual showed up uninvited at a residence in the 3300-block of Summit Avenue in Carney (21234). When the female victim told the suspect to leave, he refused. The woman then called 911.

The suspect assaulted and robbed the woman of her cell phone, then fled the scene.
