ESSEX, MD—Authorities have released additional details regarding Saturday night’s officer-involved shooting in Essex.
At just before 10:45 p.m., officers responded to the unit block of Skipjack Court (21221) for a report of a crowd of people in a parking.
The first arriving officer was confronted with an armed suspect and subsequently fired his weapon.
Two individuals suffered gunshot wounds.
The first suspect was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening wounds. A second subject sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including reviewing body worn camera video.
