Councilman Marks: Small business grant program opens on May 11th

PERRY HALL, MD—Fifth District Councilman David Marks reminded local business on Tuesday that the application for small businesses grants would be going live next week.

Baltimore County has created a COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program, which will provide grants of up to $15,000 each to more than 650 county-owned firms.

“This funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting on Monday, May 11th, so businesses should be ready to submit as soon as an application comes online,” said Councilman Marks.

Funding for this program has been provided through the federal coronavirus stimulus package.

“I would like to thank County Executive (Johnny) Olszewski and the Department of Economic and Workforce Development for creating this initiative,” Marks added. “Again, businesses should get everything ready so they can efficiently upload applications on Monday. In the meantime, please continue to solicit those firms that remain open – particularly small businesses – and to practice responsible social distancing.”
