Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Nottingham area

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Baltimore area.

The warning will be in effect until 12:30 a.m.

At 11:58 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near White Marsh to Fort Meade, moving east at 60 mph.

Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles.

Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include… Baltimore, Middle River, Parkville, Nottingham, Perry Hall, Cockeysville, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Baltimore-Washington Airport, Fort Smallwood State Park, Gibson Island, Sillery Bay, Millers Island, North Point State Park, Magothy River, Sparrows Point, Pinehurst, and Bodkin Point.

Wind damage with these storms will occur before any lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.
