UPDATE: The Baltimore County Fire Department says the five patients have refused treatment. Hazmat crews are responding to the scene to assist with the investigation.

RASPEBURG, MD – Crews are on the scene of a Thursday morning gas leak along Route 1.

The leak was reported at about 11 a.m. at a business located in the 6700-block of Belair Road (21206).

The Baltimore County Fire Department reports that paramedics are evaluating five patients at this time.

There has been no word on the severity of any injuries or what caused the leak.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
