HILLENDALE, MD – Police say a man threatened to burn down a local gas station during a robbery on Monday.

At just before 3:30 a.m. on July 8, a man entered the Evergreen gas station store located in the 6800-block of Loch Raven Boulevard.

The man demanded cigarettes and then poured lighter fluid on the store counter and threatened to burn down the gas station if he did not get what he requested.

The cashier complied and the suspect then fled the scene with cigarettes and other items from the store.

Police have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle.
