OVERLEA, MD – Police say a man was shot during an overnight robbery attempt near Overlea.
Officers responded to the 4800-block of Hazelwood Avenue (21206) at just before midnight on Saturday, July 6, after a 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body during an attempted street robbery.
Police say the victim fought back and the suspects then fled the scene.
The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his wounds.
