Police say a Thursday night crash in Middle River has left one man dead.

At just after 9:30 p.m., police responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of Harewood Road at Sand Dollar Way in Chase/Middle River (21220).

Investigators say that a 2003 Mercedes XLK430 was traveling north on Harewood Road, past Sand Dollar Way, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole.

The vehicle overturned after hitting the pole.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as Raymond Edward Vaughan Sr., 74, of the 13200-block of Birdale Avenue (21220).

Police are continuing their investigation of the crash at this time.
