Crews are on the scene of a Friday afternoon crash involving an overturned truck.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. along the inner loop of I-695.
All lanes of the beltway’s inner loop are currently blocked at Chesaco Avenue.
The truck is on its side and only the left shoulder is getting by.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the tractor-trailer negotiated a curve at too high of a speed and flipped over.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and refused medical treatment.
The tractor-trailer weighs approximately 32,000 pounds. As a result of the crash, three rolls of steel cargo exited the trailer and came to rest on the right shoulder.
Motorists should use an alternate route.
